A Blogger Quiz...

Thanks to Esther for the tag on this one:

Here's a fun quiz made up especially for bloggers. The rules are easy. Just post the quiz on your blog and answer the questions, then pass it on to five other bloggers, and link to them in your post. Be sure to link back to the one who sent it to you.

1. Do you attend the Traditional Latin Mass or the Novus Ordo?
I attend the Traditional Latin Mass. As converts to Catholicism, my family and I had only attended the Novus Ordo Mass for the first 13 years of our "Rome-ward" journey. Two and half years ago, we attended the Traditional Latin Mass for the first time. We are completely and totally "hooked" - we attend the TLM every Sunday and as often during the week as we can.

2. If you attend the TLM, how far do you drive to get there?
Until six months ago, we drove approximately 30 miles. We are a bit closer now...I think it's about 16 miles.

3. If you had to apply a Catholic label to yourself, what would it be?
Hmmm...label...I really dislike labels. I used to refer to myself as a "Conservative Catholic", but somehow that just didn't fit. I consider myself a Traditional Catholic, but am not quite comfortable with some of the "extreme" Traditionalism, I have encountered (ie: sedevacantists, pope-bashers, grumpy-never-satisfied-with-anything, elitists). I love the Pope! I love my Church! I love the Roman Rite in the Extraordinary Form! In a nutshell, that's me (I'm a nut!)

4. Are you a comment junkie?
I don't think so...I like comments, but don't always respond to them. I probably prefer leaving them rather than receiving them.

5. Do you go back to read comments on the blogs that you have already commented on? If the ongoing conversation is intriguing, I'm very interested in seeing what others have to say.

6. Have you ever left an anonymous comment on another blog?

NO! I ABHOR anonymous comments...at least choose an interesting pseudonym! One of my chief complaints about the "blogosphere" is the "anonymous comment."

7. Which blogroll would you most like to be on?

I'm humbled by the sheer number of blogs that are currently linking here. I'm constantly discovering new blogs of note. If you like what I have to say, then "blogroll me!"

8. Which blog is the first one you check?
Fr. Z, Creative Minority Report, Catholic Church Conservation and Rorate Caeli for news. A Catholic Mom in Hawaii, Knit Together In Love, Praying For Grace, Causa Nostrae Laetitiae, Waltzing Matilda for inspiration and fun. For beauty, Tea At Trianon and Hallowed Ground. Stony Creek Digest for great discussions and commentary.

9. Have you met any other bloggers in person?
Just a few...Zach, Meredith, and Krislynne. Barb lives on the other side of town, hoping to meet her soon!

10. What are you reading?
A Tale of Two Cities (again!), The Privilege of Being a Woman (thanks, Tim!)Puritan's Progress, volume 1 (thanks, Tom!) Just finished French Lessons.

Bonus Question! Has your site been banned by Spirit of Vatican II? If it has, who do you think Father Tim really is?
I've been to this blog. Has to be a parody! Hope to be banned very, very soon! I think Fr. Tim seems to be operating on the same "wave-length" as Sr. Mary Handlebars (see Fr. Z's comment box for comments from the good Sister!)

Well...that was fun. Since many of my fellow bloggers have probably already been tagged, I pass this on to anyone who hasn't!

RE: "The Privilege of Being a Woman." YEY! I'm sorry -- I feel a von Hildebrand gush coming on...

I love all things von Hildebrand. LOVE THEM! I heard Mrs. von Hildebrand speak in Toronto about 9 years ago. The woman's thoughts are so profound, clear, and beautiful. And, Mrs Von Hildebrand is the quintessential Christian woman. Modest, intelligent, feminine... I could go on and on and on and her husband a philosopher/saint.

Matthew tells me she's speaking in Steubenville soon. Ladies Night Out -- far, far out? ;)
