A proud moment...

Fourteen year old Arthur received a lovely gift to start the New Year.

He served as Master of Ceremonies for the first time, at this morning's Missa Cantata.

My serious young man...such reverence and delight etched upon his face. Trepidation, as well. He will serve this Sunday's Mass as MC.

We are relative newcomers to the Traditional Latin Mass. Prior to our move to Ohio 2 1/2 years ago, our boys had never served Mass and none of us had never attended the TLM. The love they have for the Extraordinary Rite is incredible. They serve every Sunday and Holy Day, and if they can't serve they still ask to "vest" and sit in "choir."

Amazingly (or perhaps not so amazingly), the fruit of this Rite has been twelve vocations from our parish, not to mention the great grace of increased devotion to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass within my own family.

If you're ever in Columbus, be sure to visit Holy Family, affectionately dubbed by it's priest and parishioners as "God's favorite little parish!"

Everytime youwrite about the Mass and your sons, I get chills.

I long for the day when mine are serving in the extraordinary form and I can send you my photos!

What a gorgeous photo. I am ready for our boys to learn to serve also. My nephews serve in Stillriver, MA, and it is always beautiful, and certainly inspires a love of the mass.

Ladies:

We are truly blessed to be in Holy Family Parish. We literally lived 14 years in the desert--our previous parish was rife with every liturgical abuse imaginable. My prayer is that every devout Catholic (TLM or NO) never be exposed to such scandal, that all young men will come to the altar of the Lord with great joy and a longing to serve and that we all show our thanks to our Good God by praying for His holy priests who are in constant battle.

This is a great post. You must be proud of the boys and ever so happy they love the Mass and love so much to serve.

It's such good news that your Parish has produced twelve vocations. That's just awesome.

I haven't been to a Latin Mass since Vatican II. I've seen lots of liturgical abuse, and would love if we could find a Latin Mass. We're happy about the Motu Proprio(sp?)

We pray every day for the Priests, Bishops, and the Pope.
